Message from Commissioner Brinly - March 16, 2012

Hello from Frankfort!

The rollout of our new Kentucky Career Center branding is well underway. Secretary Meyer and Kentucky Workforce Investment Board Chair Ed Holmes kicked off our launch by introducing you to the Brand Promise, and we welcomed Holly Neal, our new Brand Management Specialist, to head up the project.

There are several upcoming opportunities that will provide you more in-depth knowledge of our new branding. Partner for Success training, delivered by local staff in your area, will highlight branding.  In addition, we are planning internal launch events within each office to fully train you on our new branding strategies.  I will continue to directly share with you by e-mail the different aspects of the branding initiative and the many exciting ways we can work together to be compassionate advisors – empowering solutions and inspiring people.

As I have traveled to meetings around the state I have been asked, “Why are we re-branding?”   I hope to enlighten you a bit on the answer to that question.

Based on stakeholder and public input, Governor Beshear and the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board established four goals to support the vision for the workforce system:

Under the goals, there are action steps to implement the goals.

The branding initiative falls under the System Transformation action step.  The exciting point of these goals from the KWIB is that we are partnering with the Education and Economic Development agencies to collectively support the vision of our state: Kentucky will transform the workforce development system through innovative practices which enhance sustainable economic and job growth.  Branding allows our individual and employer customers to find us by one name all across the Commonwealth and reinforce our new brand promise.

Please access the Kentucky Workforce Investment Board website to get a deeper understanding of the Branding and other initiatives that we are all working so diligently each and every day.
