May 30, 2012 Message from Commissioner Beth Brinly

I hope everyone enjoyed Memorial Day as we honored our fallen soldiers and the sacrifices they made to ensure our freedoms. The holiday weekend also is considered the unofficial kickoff of summer and its many activities.

This summer, we have many things going on as we are currently in our “internal” launch phase of our branding initiative. We are educating our staff and partners about the who, what, where, when and why of the new Kentucky Career Center.  We have been doing this by way of presentations during Partner for Success meetings and internal brand launch events being planned locally by your Regional Brand Champions.

Let’s review the five W’s:

Who:  All Workforce Investment agencies and partners.  It takes all of us working together to make this project a success.

What:  Branding our workforce investment system as the Kentucky Career Center.  Our one common logo is our instant identifier.  It sets us apart as a complete system.

Where:  Whether it is services offered online, in an office in the mountains of Pikeville, the city streets of Louisville or the farmland of Mayfield, all of our service-delivery mechanisms will be recognized as the Kentucky Career Center.

When:  During the summer months, we are internally discussing the new initiative with staff and partners.  We will publicly launch the new brand once internal steps are complete.

Why:  To focus on the customers, both online and in our offices, and deliver a Brand Promise of which we can all be proud.

As we continue to educate more staff and partners, the internal launch phase is a critical step to transforming our offices and web presense into a customer-centric environment that fulfills the Brand Promise.  While we are excited to tell folks outside our agencies that we will soon be the Kentucky Career Center, we first must complete the internal steps to ensure that we all have a great story to tell about the services we provide in our communities.
