Scandals and Ghost Stories Tours at White Hall

RICHMOND, Ky. – Come out to White Hall State Historic Site for a special “Scandals and Ghost Stories” nighttime tour during July.

White Hall State Historic Site was the home of Cassius Marcellus Clay, 19th century emancipationist, politician, newspaper publisher, ambassador to Russia, and friend to Abraham Lincoln. Guides will recount haunting ghost tales of White Hall and will let you in on the gossip, scandals and stories surrounding the Clay family during a nighttime tour of the mansion.

The tours are offered July 13-14 and 20-21 at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $7 for all ages. Reservations are required by calling the park at 859-623-9178.

 Nestled in rolling farmland, White Hall was built in the late 1700s, with a major addition constructed in the 1860s. The mansion, built in Georgian and Italianate styles, boasts nearly 10,000 square feet, with modern innovations of the time such as central heating and indoor plumbing. Daily tours are Wednesdays through Sunday with tours on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 1 through Oct. 31.

White Hall State Historic Site is located in Richmond, off Interstate 75 exit 95.
